In an interview with Empire Magazinethe director Shawn Levy (‘Free Guy – Taking Control’) broke his silence on the recent failures of Marvel.
The filmmaker admits that the MCU It’s not the same as before, but he considers it unlikely that this will be reflected in a problem in the future’Deadpool & Wolverine‘. He states that the chatty mercenary’s new film is very different from the studio’s recent productions.
“You’d have to be living under a rock not to know that Marvel’s latest releases have failed to achieve the same success as the older films. [do MCU]. [‘Deadpool & Wolverine’] It’s coming out at an interesting time, but our film is definitely very different.”
Previously, Levi had revealed how the project changed after casting Hugh Jackman as the legendary mutant: “Everything changed radically the day Hugh called Ryan [Reynold]. We were talking about various ideas about possible stories for a third film. ‘Deadpool’. Those were stories that were more sequential to the first two feature films, but none of them predicted such a change. I can say with certainty that the story changed completely and, in fact, came to us very quickly from that day onwards.”
The film will be released in national cinemas on July 25th.
