The first lady of the State Virginia Mendes visited the Ginásio Aecim Tocantins, one of the points available to receive donations. The action mobilized by the first lady of MT, through the Government of MT, has the partnership and support of the State Civil Defense and the State Secretariat for Social Assistance and Citizenship (Setasc).

Received by the secretary of Setasc, cel. Grasi Bugalho, and the Civil Defense superintendent, lieutenant colonel Luís Cláudio, Virginia Mendes checked the donations and thanked the population for helping the state of Rio Grande do Sul in this time of tragedy.

“We Mato Grosso residents are very supportive, even more so with all this tragedy that the people of Rio Grande do Sul are facing and with everyone’s help we should reach around 60 tons of revenue. I saw here at the gym the commitment of the volunteers, of the people who are coming to deliver donations, it really is a moment of unity. Gratitude to everyone. God bless and have mercy on those people who have faced all this suffering”, said Virginia Mendes.

The Civil Defense superintendent highlighted the action led by First Lady Virginia Mendes, and spoke about the mobilization. “This is a mobilization of the first lady of MT, who once again demonstrated her sensitivity to social causes. We have been here at the Gym since last Tuesday, and at other points that closed receptions this Friday. This first batch of donations will be sent this Monday, according to the schedule”, confirmed the lieutenant. cell. Luís Cláudio.

Dona Norma Leite is a volunteer, she spoke of the strength of unity. “If everyone does their part, everything will end well. The situation they are facing is very sad, this tragedy, this union is of great value. I see that the whole of Brazil is in this noble cause, with faith in God they will overcome.”

Businesswoman Maria Leite came from Rio Grande do Sul 29 years ago, she has relatives in the region affected by the flood and was at the Gym to deliver her donations. “With all our hearts we have been following everything since the beginning of this tragedy, I have friends and family there who were rescued, they don’t even know the consequences of all this yet. My heart is tight. May the donations also bring a lot of affection and warmth”, she wished.

This Saturday, donations began to be loaded and on Monday (13.05), the shipment leaves for Rio Grande do Sul. According to the Civil Defense superintendent, a team will investigate the region to assess whether there will be a need for more collections.

This Friday (10.05), the State Government, with the consent of the productive class and unanimous approval in the State Legislative Assembly (ALMT), transferred R$50 million to the account of the Government of Rio Grande do Sul.
