The Empresa Gaúcha de Rodovias (EGR) released most of the road blocks due to landslides caused by the intense rains that hit Rio Grande do Sul. Two sections remain completely closed. The first is located at km 75 of ERS-130, between Lajeado and Encantado, where the bridge over the Forqueta River collapsed; the other is at km 80 of ERS-129, in Muçum, where the track collapsed.

For these cases, EGR has already announced the execution of an emergency action plan to recover these impacted points.

After the evaluation and detailed survey, the EGR technical team is working on preparing the tender to hire a company that will rebuild the new bridge, expected to be completed in eight months. “To this end, EGR will seek solutions that prioritize agility in construction and the prompt restoration of traffic conditions, given the importance for the region and the State”, explained the CEO of EGR, Luís Fernando Vanacôr.

In addition to the bridge over the Forqueta River, EGR is also coordinating the tender to hire a company that will rebuild the completely broken track at km 88 of ERS-129, in Muçum. “EGR’s focus is to reestablish the affected segments, ensuring the safety and mobility of the population”, added Vanacôr.
