This weekend there will be a series of shows and other events in Rio de Janeiro, including free entry. The list has performances by artists such as Lobão, Luan Santana, MC Cabelinho, Pitty and others; as well as theater and dance shows. Check out a selection of program highlights.

Gigantão in Grande Rio

This Friday (10), at 9pm, the event features shows by Vitinho, MC Cabelinho, Delacruz and Naldo Benny at Acadêmicos do Grande Rio (Rua Almirante Barroso 5, Centro de Duque de Caxias). Tickets from R$40 at sympla.com.br. 18 years.

Luan City Festival

The event takes place this Saturday (11), at 5pm, at Apoteose (Rua Marquês de Sapucaí 36, Santo Cristo. In addition to Luan Santana, there will also be a show by Dennis DJ, Kevin O Chris and Mumuzinho. Tickets from R$90 on the website q2ingressos.com.br.

Péricles in new show

The singer performs this Friday at Via Music Hall (Rod. Presidente Dutra 4200, Parque Barreto, São João de Meriti), with his new show “Céu lilás – ao vivo”. The house opens at 10pm and tickets start at R$40 on the website uhuu.com. 18 years.

Santa Marta afternoon

This Friday, the event takes place at the GRES Mocidade Unida do Santa Marta court (Rua Jupira 72, Botafogo). There will be trap, samba, pagode, funk, performances by TZ da Coronel and Sueco. Starts at 9pm. Tickets from R$30 sold on sympla.com.br.

Daniel Boaventura on Mother’s Day special

Daniel Boaventura performs on the “Best part of the show” tour, with his songs and classics by Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and Barry White, at Qualistage (Av. Ayrton Senna 3.000, Barra) this Saturday, at 9pm. Tickets from R$70. 18 years.

The celebration of Mother’s Day gains a special touch with Elymar Santos’ show at Via Music Hall (Rod. Pres. Dutra 4.200, Parque Barreto, São João de Meriti) this Saturday. From 11pm onwards, the singer will perform through a repertoire carefully selected for this performance, which brings together songs from his 30-year career. Tickets from R$30. Free.

Cover by Roberto Carlos

On Sunday, at 5pm, Carlos Evanney, official cover of Roberto Carlos, performs at Shopping Grande Rio (R. Maria Soares Sendas 111, Parque Barreto, São João de Meriti). Songs like “Details” and “It’s necessary to know how to live” promise to delight the King’s fans. Free. Free.

Lobão

The musician celebrates his 50 years of career in a show full of hits on Saturday, at Circo Voador (R. dos Arcos s/n, Lapa). Gates open at 8pm and the opening show is by Arnaldo Brandão. Tickets from R$100 (solidarity) at eventim.com.br. 18 years.

Pitty and CPM 22 perform at the party, this Saturday, at Nova Friburgo Country Clube (Av. Conselheiro Július Arp 140, Centro, Nova Friburgo). The venue will open at 8pm and tickets start at R$90 on the website ingresse.com. 18 years.

Brazilian rock

The bands Biquini and Não de Nós celebrate four decades of career and friendship with two full shows at Qualistage, at ViaParque Shopping (Av. Ayrton Senna 3000, Barra da Tijuca). Friday, at 9:30 pm. Tickets from R$90 (half) on the website tickemaster.com.br. 18 years.

MPB for children

On Sunday, at 4pm, Grupo Cria premieres its new show, “Recria”, at Sesc São Gonçalo (Av. Pres. Kennedy 755, Estrela do Norte, São Gonçalo), which features new interpretations by classic MPB composers, such as Chico Buarque, Milton Nascimento, Gilberto Gil and Tom Jobim, in special versions for little ones. Ticket costs R$5 (half).

Tribute to Carlos Lyra

Singer Jane Duboc and guitarist Nelson Faria pay homage to Carlos Lyra’s work at Teatro Rival Petrobras (Rua Álvaro Alvim 33, basement, Cinelândia) on Friday, the day before the honoree’s 91st birthday. The opening of the house will be at 6:30 pm. Tickets from R$60 at sympla.com.br

Charm Originals in Baixada

The company Originalais do Charme turns ten years old and this Friday and Saturday they present the show “In the area” in Baixada Fluminense. The sessions take place, respectively, at Sesc in São João de Meriti (Av. Automóvel Clube 66, Centro de São João de Meriti) and at Sesc in Nova Iguaçu (Rua Dom Adriano Hipolito 10, Moquetá), both at 7pm. Free entrance. Free.

Theater and dance

Free show in Campo Grande

Part of the cultural agenda launched by Associação Peneira, the show “Pasmado” has a single performance on Saturday, at 6pm, at Citrus Ateliê (Rua Guaraciaba 733, Campo Grande). Entry is free with ticket reservations via email [email protected]. The production will provide a van leaving Central do Brasil for the location of the play (if interested, please inform via email). 14 years.

The dance show “Balanço” is on at Sesc in Copacabana (Rua Domingos Ferreira 160) until this Sunday (12), with sessions at 8pm. On stage, the movements are accompanied by rhythms such as samba and soul. Tickets are free. Free.

Unique presentations in Botafogo

The show “Todos por um!”, by dancer Luyd Carvalho, will have only two performances this Friday, in the auditorium of Aliança Francesa Botafogo (Rua Muniz Barreto 730). Sessions are at 6pm and 7:15pm. Entry is free, but tickets must be collected at sympla.com.br.

More event

34 years of the Charme de Madureira Ball

On the anniversary of the dance on Saturday, there will be a party at Viaduto Negrão de Lima, at 10pm, and the inauguration of the Museum of Urban Negritude, with graffiti panels from the Zona de Arte Urbana Project, which tell the story of charm, dance and culture black carioca. Entries for R$20 on the Sympla website. 18 years.

Kids at the mall

At Shopping Nova Iguaçu (Avenida Abílio Augusto Távora 1111, Bairro da Luz), the food court stage will feature the children’s play “The Ugly Duckling”, at 4pm. Entry is free. At West Shopping (Estrada do Mendanha 555, Campo Grande), on Sunday, there will be an ecobag customization workshop for children between 3 and 10 years old. The activity is free, from 3pm to 6pm.
