Santos faces Amaonas this Saturday (11), at 4pm (Brasília time), in the fourth round of the Brazilian Series B. The match will be Peixe’s reunion with a team from Amazonas after 10 years. It also marks the return to Arena da Amazônia, a stadium that, at the time, hosted the match against Princesa do Solimões, a month later, it was the venue for four World Cup games in 2014.
At the time, Princesa do Solimões, which is from the city of Manacapuru (68 kilometers from Manaus), chose to play at the stadium in the capital of Amazonas. Santos got the better of it and won 2-1, with goals from Alan Santos and Gabigol. The Amazon team scored with Branco. Then, on the 15th, they beat the Amazon team 4-2, in Vila Belmiro.
This time, the opponent will be Amazonas, a team with a team that completed 5 years on May 5th, but which is growing in Brazilian football. He won consecutive access to Series D and C of the Brasileirão and is competing in the Second Division for the first time. But it’s not a good time.
