Campo Grande supermarket rations rice

A supermarket chain began rationing packages of rice in Campo Grande (MS), this Thursday (9), after finding it difficult to replenish stocks due to the floods in Rio Grande do Sul. In a video from consumers sent to g1you can see signs indicating the limit of 5 units per person. Watch the video above.

In a statement, the Mato Grosso do Sul Supermarket Association (AMAS) stated that Suppliers have available stocks of the product, but the floods in the South caused a serious logistics problem in relation to transport to Mato Grosso do Sul.

“This is the case with rice, where some supermarkets are already limiting the quantity sold per customer, due to fear of running out of product”, explained AMAS.

Milk was also restricted in a supermarket, with a purchase limit set at up to 36 units.
