More than 8.1 thousand people were served by teams from the Acre Regional Electoral Court (TRE-AC) during the joint effort organized at the Sesc Bosque Gymnasium, in Rio Branco, between the 1st and this Wednesday (8), when The deadline for settling disputes with the Electoral Court has ended.

What happens to those who have not regularized their voter registration card?

Failure to regularize the title causes several consequences in the voter’s life. The first of these is the impossibility of voting in this year’s municipal elections, which have the first round scheduled for October 6th. In addition to not being able to vote, voters will also have difficulties in:

  • Enroll in universities;
  • Receive social benefits;
  • Take on public positions.

In an election year, registration is closed 150 days prior to the date of the election, according to article 91 of the Elections Law (Law No. 9,504/1997), so the deadline for regularization ends this Wednesday.

The legislation provides for the closure of registration so that the Electoral Court can organize voting based on a determined number of voters eligible to vote.
