Rio – A fugitive from justice was arrested this Thursday morning (9), after being admitted to Miguel Couto Hospital, in Leblon, South Zone of Rio, with an appendicitis crisis. According to the police, Diego Francisco de Oliveira Carvalho, known as Prejudicado, aged 34, escaped from prison just over a year ago. There was an open arrest warrant against him for trafficking.

According to the PM, agents from the 23rd BPM (Leblon) were called after Diego was admitted to the hospital. With support from the Hotline and the Intelligence Service of the 1st Area Police Command (1st CPA), the military officers carried out the arrest warrant.

According to information from Hotline, Prejudicado is one of the members of drug trafficking in Morro da Providência, in Gamboa, Port Zone, a region dominated by Comando Vermelho (CV).

After being sentenced to serve a 21-year sentence, Diego was imprisoned for just over three. In December 2022, he gained the right to periodic visit and, since then, he has not returned to prison.

In a statement, Miguel Couto’s management reported that Diego’s health condition is stable. The criminal remains in custody. The case was registered at the 14th DP (Leblon).
