The Ministry of Mines and Energy approved the release of resources for the return of the Luz para Todos program in the order of R$400 million to serve more than five thousand families in Tocantins.
This release of resources for the return of the program was the work of senator Professor Dorinha Seabra (União Brasil/TO) and federal deputy Vicentinho Júnior (PP/TO).
“The return of the Luz para Todos program is crucial to guarantee universal access to electricity, serving the most vulnerable population, combating inequalities, providing access to the digital world, boosting the social and economic development not only of our Tocantins, but of the entire the Legal Amazon”, he highlighted.
According to information from Energisa, at first, 560 families will be served and, next year, another 2,600 families in Tocantins.
Program
The Light for All Program returns with the mission of bringing electricity to more than 500 thousand Brazilian families, mainly in rural and remote areas of the Legal Amazon, representing a fundamental step towards combating energy poverty and promoting the country’s social and economic development.
