Quilombolas from Campos Novos (SC) are the first to receive Incra credits in the state

-

Thirty families from the quilombola territory Invernada dos Negros, located between the municipalities of Campos Novos and Abdon Batista, in the Planalto Sul of Santa Catarina, will be the first in the state to receive credits from Incra to subsidize installation in the area, which began to be titled ten years ago . The signing of the contracts took place on May 4th (Saturday), in the community.

The Installation Credit, in the Initial Support modality, worth R$8,000, reaches quilombola families after registration carried out in 2023 by Incra in the territory’s community centers, with the aim of inclusion in the list of beneficiaries of the National Agrarian Reform Program ( PNRA). This is the first stage of financing guaranteed by the institute to families, with a total of ten modalities offered.

More than 300 registrations were made at Invernada dos Negros. After screening and verifying the profile of each family, they will be passed on for credit process instruction and release to the banking institution.

Instructions

The families covered at this first stage must wait around 15 days for the cards to be available for collection at the Banco do Brasil branch in Abdon Batista (SC). But the recommendation is to confirm over the phone beforehand whether the benefits have been released.

With the card in hand, the resource is available in the account for 120 calendar days. If the interested party does not use the money, it returns to the government coffers and no debt is generated. If the person makes a withdrawal and still leaves funds in the account, they will be available for a period of just 60 days. Therefore, it is suggested that producers transfer the total amount to another account they own as soon as they receive the card.

Payment

The quilombola farmer benefiting from the credit will have up to three years to pay off his debt with a 90% discount. In other words, paying just R$800 to Incra. After this period, he will lose part of the discount, and will have another year to pay his debt with a 50% discount – in this case he will pay R$4,000. After four years, if the producer does not pay his debt, he loses all benefit from the discounts and will have to recover the full amount of the credit with interest, that is, R$8,000 plus interest.

The payment slip with the 90% discount will be available to producers from 180 days after withdrawing the resource. They can be collected directly from the digital Citizenship Room on the Incra portal or requested from a technician at the municipality.
