Family questions death of patient inside hospital in Aracaju
Patient Ricardo Nascimento Santos, aged 45, who was admitted to Hospital São José, in Aracaju, was killed by another patient this Tuesday (7). According to the victim’s family, he was hanged with a sheet.
The Public Security Secretariat reported that the suspect admitted the crime and said he acted in self-defense after an alleged attack. He was arrested in the unit.
The victim’s sister questioned why he was removed from the scene of the crime and the fact that no one had heard the commotion that resulted in his death. According to her, the hospital was unable to explain the situation.
Ricardo Santos lived in Estância, where the wake and burial took place.
The Criminalistics Institute and the Legal Medical Institute (IML) were called for forensic examinations and the collection of the body. The Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP) opened a police investigation to investigate the case and the circumstances in which the death occurred.
Hospital São José was contacted, but did not respond to the case.
