This Tuesday, the 7th, the State Tourism Forum (Foestur) held its 88th ordinary meeting, highlighting significant measures for the sector. Led by the Secretary of Tourism and president of the board, Hercy Filho, the meeting addressed topics of great relevance to the development of tourism in the State.

The main highlight was the announcement of the Tocantins Government’s support for Rio Grande do Sul through the “Tocantins for Rio Grande do Sul” program. This initiative aims to provide support and assistance to the state of Rio Grande do Sul, mainly in relation to tourism, strengthening cooperation between regions.

The Setur manager emphasized the importance of helping the state of Rio Grande do Sul. “This connection, through all the entities represented here and the first lady’s office, which is coordinating the logistics for the aid to reach there, makes all the difference in this moment of solidarity. The moment calls for this urgency and we cannot fail to contribute”, emphasized Hercy Filho.

During the meeting, other projects and initiatives were also presented, such as “Tocantins na Estrada” and participation in the Tourism Exhibition. The Fair, scheduled to take place from August 8th to 11th, in Rio de Janeiro, promises to attract great attention from Regional Forums, standing out as a reflection of the Regionalization Program initiatives. Furthermore, the announcement of “Turismo na Estrada”, which aims to bring the Secretariat of Tourism (Setur) closer to municipalities and tourist regions, aroused considerable interest on the part of associations, encouraging their active participation in the event. These are actions that demonstrate the commitment of the Government of Tocantins and the members of the Forum to the sustainable development of tourism in the State.

The Forum’s secretary, Graziela Cortez, emphasized that “events such as ‘Tocantins on the Road’, the Tourism Hall, among others, strengthen the work that has been developed in the tourist regions of Tocantins that reflect on good practices and more effective public policies for the sector.”
