On the afternoon of this Monday (06), the Civil Police of Santa Catarina, through the Porto Belo Police Station, arrested a man with a preventive arrest warrant from the District of Santo Antônio, Rio Grande do Norte. After collaboration between several police units, including the Drug Enforcement Police (DECOD) of Florianópolis and the Civil Police of Rio Grande do Norte, it was discovered that the suspect was residing in Porto Belo.
During the capture efforts, the police discovered that the individual was working on a construction site in the city of Itapema. After his location, the arrest warrant was served. The man had been on the run since escaping from prison in Rio Grande do Norte, during which he allegedly damaged the prison structure and stole a public agent’s gun. After legal procedures, he was sent to the Tijucas regional prison, where he will await his transfer back to the state of Rio Grande do Norte to serve his sentence.
