This Monday (06), in an event held at the headquarters of the Independent League of Samba Schools (LIESA), it was decided, by the presidents and representatives of the associations, that the parades of the schools in the Special Group of Carnival 2025 will take place over three days. In addition to the traditional Sunday and Monday, the public will be able to enjoy the main samba schools, at the Sambadrome, also on Tuesday.
The parade schedule is scheduled for 4 schools to perform per day. In an unprecedented decision, the judges’ scores will be closed at the end of each day. Unidos de Padre Miguel, champion of the 2024 Gold Series, will open the parade on Sunday, March 2nd. Unidos da Tijuca opens the parade on Monday, March 3rd. And finally, Mocidade will open the new day of the parade calendar, Tuesday, March 4th. The other schools will be divided into three groups, with the order of the day for each school being defined in the draw on May 23, in Cidade do Samba: 1) Mangueira, Portela and Beija-Flor, 2) Grande Rio, Viradouro and Salgueiro , 3) Paraíso do Tuiuti, Vila Isabel and Imperatriz Leopoldinense.
The new president of LIESA, Gabriel David stated that the initiative aims to bring more people to the Sambadrome: “Within this initiative, we want to enable a reduction in the price of the stands, with the aim of making tickets even more accessible. We will also ensure that more people are at the Sambadrome on different days”.

The parades will also become even more attractive, with new features that guarantee the presence of the public in Sapucaí after the end of each day, until dawn. With the change in the Special Group, the children’s parades will have a new day of the week, which will still be chosen in agreement with Aesm-Rio, the organization responsible for presenting the children, and with the public authorities.
The traditional Parade of Champions, which features the top six placed, continues on the Saturday following the end of the parades, scheduled in 2025 for March 8th.
