Rio – A large fire hit a slaughterhouse, on Monday afternoon (6), in Campos Elíseos, in Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense. The Rio Fire Department was called at around 4pm.

Firefighters remained until 8:15 pm on Estrada José Pinheiro Alonso, at number 95, in the Jardim Nossa Senhora do Carmo neighborhood, to normalize the situation. The incident also has the support of the barracks in Duque de Caxias, São Cristóvão, Nova Iguaçu and Irajá.

The fire was brought under control around 6pm and no casualties were reported. After two hours of recovery work, the firefighters left the scene and engineers from the Municipal Civil Defense began to assess the damage caused to the refrigerator’s structure.
