The entire population over six months can receive the dose
All 399 municipalities in Paraná can administer the flu vaccine to the population over six months of age. The State Department of Health (SESA) reinforces, together with city halls, the importance of encouraging and promoting actions in order to increase the adherence of people from Paraná to the 26th National Campaign against Influenza.
To ensure this, the department allowed city halls to choose the best strategy to guarantee residents’ adherence and access to the flu vaccine. As an option, there is, for example, carrying out the D-Day of vaccination, the active search for unvaccinated people, vaccination in schools, vaccination beyond health units, checking the vaccination record and intensifying vaccination in indigenous areas.
“The national campaign ends this month, so the more people we vaccinate, the more prepared we will be, which directly affects health services. Vaccination is the main strategy to avoid overloading care in hospitals and Basic Health Units. We need to guarantee this protection”, emphasized the Secretary of State for Health, Beto Preto.
The doses are now available in the 22 Health Regions of Paraná.
