Man is arrested in operation against child sexual exploitation in Bahia

A man was arrested red-handed on Friday night (3), suspected of child sexual exploitation, in a nightclub in Salvador. According to the Civil Police (PC), a 16-year-old teenager was rescued at the scene.

According to the Civil Police, the young woman removed from the establishment gave a special statement, with psychosocial assistance, and was handed over to her family, who were unaware of the situation. The Guardianship Council was also called to monitor the case.

According to delegate Simone Moutinho, head of the Specialized Police Station for the Repression of Crimes Against Children and Adolescents (Dercca), investigations indicate that other teenagers were being exploited by the suspect, however, only one was found at the time of the action. The arrested man was also interviewed and remains at the disposal of Justice this Saturday (4). His name was not released.

The owner of the nightclub was charged with promoting prostitution, as he is considered responsible for maintaining the practice in the space, which was closed. The property is spacious, has a swimming pool and several private rooms. [Veja no vídeo que abre a matéria]

A semi-automatic pistol, ammunition, six hundred and fifty reais in cash, credit card machines, documents and a computer were seized. The material will be forwarded to the Technical Police Department (DPT) for examination.

The action was part of the national operation Caminhos Seguros, carried out by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), National Security Secretariat (Senasp), and is carried out in Bahia by the Specialized Police Station for the Repression of Crimes Against Children and Adolescents (Dercca ), and the Coordination of Judicial Police Operations (COPJ).
