Couple from Bahia contacts family after disappearance in Rio Grande do Sul
The Bahian couple Juliene Ferreiras Lopes, 19 years old, and Lucas Ferreira Borges, 22 years old, who had been missing since the 30th, in the municipality of Estrela, in Rio Grande do Sul, made contact with the family late this Saturday morning (4).
To the family, they told that they spent five days without electricity, without a telephone network or without internet, which prevented contact. The young people managed to speak to their relatives after borrowing a cell phone from a man who arrived this Saturday in the same space where they are. Although they are scared, they reassured their family members and said they are safe and well.
Juliene and Lucas are from Lauro de Freitas, in the Metropolitan Region of Salvador, and moved to Rio Grande do Sul about six months ago, to work.
The family had been keeping in touch with the two since the storms began. However, on Tuesday (30), relatives were no longer able to speak to the couple.
The last information they had received was that the shelter was being flooded, which caused distress among relatives. They contacted the Rio Grande do Sul Fire Department, but received no response.
