Mato Grosso’s industry led the way in job openings in March this year. A total of 2,943 jobs were created in construction and industry in general, according to data from the New General Register of Employed and Unemployed People (Novo Caged) analyzed by the Industry Observatory of the Mato Grosso Federation of Industries System (Fiemt System).
According to the information, services hired 2,664 workers, followed by commerce with 237 jobs occupied. On the other hand, the agriculture sector recorded a negative balance, with -4,759.

“It is very positive to see that the industry in Mato Grosso is leading the opening of jobs, generating jobs and wealth for our state, despite the numerous logistical and tax challenges we face. This shows that the industrial entrepreneur is resilient and responds to the opportunities that the market offers. It is important to highlight in these numbers that the activity of manufacturing food products continues to play a significant role in this growth, as does civil construction”, pointed out the president of Fiemt System, Silvio Rangel.
The industry in Mato Grosso was driven mainly by the manufacturing of food products, responsible for the opening of 693 vacancies, representing 79.43% of the total in the processing industry. In the construction sector, the main activity was infrastructure works, responsible for 946 vacancies, 56.61% of the total in the segment.
According to the report, the balance of jobs (difference between admissions and dismissals) in Mato Grosso in the third month of the year was 1,085 formal jobs. The result records a relative variation in the stock of jobs (compared to the previous month’s result) of 0.12% and, when compared to the same period last year, it records 4.75% growth.
Counties
Cuiabá registered a balance of 1,393 in the job market, followed by Várzea Grande (894) and Rondonópolis (834). Among the municipalities that led the generation of jobs and jobs, closing the month with positive balances, Sinop also stands out with 353 and Nova Olímpia with 271 balances in the reference month.
In contrast, the five municipalities that recorded the highest negative balances are: Querência with -299, Sapezal (-259), Nova Ubiratã (-224), Tabaporã (-180) and Diamantino (- 161).
