One of the main revelations of Mato Grosso do Sul judo, André Lucas Gessi Dodero has been gaining more and more space in national and international competitions. At just 14 years old, the judoka is competing in the Under-18 category, in which he has obtained six podiums and four gold medals this year.

During the month of March, Dodero competed in a competition in Croatia and is preparing for a true marathon of fights in 2024.

After the change of category, when he started to compete with athletes up to 18 years old, André Lucas Dodero was runner-up in the National Selective in São Paulo, bronze in the National Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, in addition to gold in the State Start Tournament in Campo Grande /MS, in the Future Judo Cup and in the Campo Grande School Games. And also Regional Brazilian Champion in Goiás last month.

“Sport has a lot to contribute to our trajectory in life. By practicing the different modalities, we learn and develop different values ​​and qualities such as discipline, focus, constant search for evolution, teamwork, respect for others and resilience in knowing how to deal with victories and defeats.” Said the athlete, who concludes: “I train hard to be among the best in the category, I thank God who blesses me, my team who helps me and my friends and family who support me”.

Overall in his career, André Lucas Gessi Dodero won the third State Championship in Mato Grosso do Sul, is the Three-time Regional Brazilian Champion, Pan-American Champion in Lima/PER, General Brazilian Champion in Curitiba/PR, School World Champion in Rio de Janeiro, Two-time Champion of the School Games in Brasília/DF and South American Champion in Santiago/CHI.

André Lucas Gessi Dodero is a 1st year student and high-performance athlete at Judô Clube Rocha/Rádio Clube, in Campo Grande. Following the season, it will face competitions such as the European Under-18 Championship in Coimbra/Portugal, in addition to the Brazilian School Games for 14 to 17 years old in Maceió/AL and the Brazilian Under-18 Championship in Rio de Janeiro in the first semester .
