More changes to Rio Branco City Hall were announced this Thursday (2) in the Official State Gazette (DOE). The changes were in the Secretariat of Social Assistance and Human Rights (SASDH), in the office of Mayor Tião Bocalom and in the Municipal Secretariat for City Care (SMCCI).

This week, Bocalom announced pediatrician Eliatian Nogueira as the new Health Secretary of Rio Branco and the Municipal Civil Defense confirmed the reserve lieutenant colonel of the Acre Fire Department José Glacio Marques de Souza as the organization’s coordinator.

The changes in the secretariats were as follows:

  • Suellen Araújo da Silva – dismissed from the position of municipal secretary of Social Assistance and Human Rights and appointed to the mayor’s office;
  • Valcilena Maria Socorro Santos de Oliveira – appointed as municipal secretary of City Care (SMCCI);
  • Wellington Divino Chaves de Souza – appointed as Secretary of Social Assistance and Human Rights (SASDH)

The new Secretary of City Care (SMCCI), Valcilena de Oliveira, is a journalist with a postgraduate degree in communications consultancy. She took over the position left by Joabe Lira, who stepped aside to run in the municipal elections.

On April 5, Mayor Tião Bocalom dismissed the municipal coordinator of Civil Defense and two secretaries.

Joabe Lira de Queiroz left the Municipal Department of City Care (SMCCI) and Sheila Andrade Vieira left her position as Municipal Secretary of Health (SEMSA), in Rio Branco.

The former municipal coordinator of Rio Branco’s Civil Defense, Cláudio Falcão de Souza, confirmed that his departure was to comply with electoral legislation and the deadline for non-compliance, as he intends to run for office in the next elections.
