Zilene Aparecida López, 53 years old, her son Jairo Alvarez López, 30 years old, and Zilene’s grandchildren, an eight-year-old boy and a one-year-old baby, died in a traffic accident on Wednesday afternoon (1 .mai.24), on Ruta PY03 in General Francisco Caballero, in the department of Canindeyú (PY), on the border with Mato Grosso do Sul.

Zilene’s daughter-in-law, Liz Paola Diaz Brega, aged 23, was rescued in serious condition.

According to information from the National Police, the family lived in the district of La Paloma and was in a Toyota Prize that collided head-on with a Hyundai Truck truck.

The truck driver, Gean Carlos Cardozo Hoffmann, 18, was injured and was taken to the Katueté Health Center to receive medical attention.

Commissioner Óscar Ledezma, from the 8th Puente Kyha Police Station, explained that the accident was probably caused by improper overtaking of one of the vehicles involved, coupled with high speed.
