The Government of Mato Grosso is building three large bridges over the Teles Pires River. The works will bring improvements to the logistics of the entire Northern Region, allowing new routes for the flow of agricultural production and alternative transport for the entire population.

The Teles Pires River, or São Manoel, is one of the most important in Mato Grosso. It is part of the Amazon River basin and rises on the border of the municipalities of Primavera do Leste and Nova Brasilândia. The Teles Pires runs more than 1,300 km until it joins the Juruena River, to form the Tapajós River at the northernmost point of the State.

With 202 meters long, the bridge over Teles Pires on MT-140, between Santa Rita do Trivelato and Boa Esperança do Norte is completed. The access points to the bridge are being built along with the paving of the highway, which is also in the final stages.

MT-140 will be a new logistics corridor for the State, connecting Sorriso to Campo Verde, without passing through BR-163. R$6.5 million was invested in the construction of this bridge.

Another bridge that is almost ready is on MT-325, in the municipality of Alta Floresta, and has an investment of R$42.5 million. The 550-meter bridge connects Alta Floresta to the border with Pará, in the region called Porto de Areia, which concentrates much of the municipality’s agricultural production.
