Deputies open CPI to investigate alleged lack of transparency by the Government of RJ

The Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro (Alerj) approved the creation of a Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI) to investigate a possible lack of transparency in the government.

The request for creation was published in an extra edition of the Official Gazette on Monday night (29), with the signature of 53 of the 70 deputies – which caused surprise because the allied base of governor Cláudio Castro (PL) in the Assembly is broad .

The objective is to investigate irregularities in compliance with the Access to Information and Transparency Law.

Parliamentarians are suspicious of the number of processes and documents that are confidential in the electronic information system, created precisely to make state government data available.

There was an expectation that this issue would be debated in the session on Tuesday (30) at Alerj, but this did not happen. The session lasted less than 20 seconds (understand in the video above).

The expectation is that the committee members will be chosen by the beginning of next week and that the first meeting will be between Tuesday (6) and Wednesday (7).

TV Globo contacted Dr. Serginho (PL), government leader in Alerj, and the governor himself, but had no response until Tuesday night.
