Young man dies in confrontation with police after trying to escape from an approach, says PM | Tocantins

A young man, aged 22, died during a confrontation with the Military Police, in the rural area of ​​Lavandeira, southern region of the state. The boy allegedly tried to escape from the police after seeing the police car. According to the PM, he has convictions for several crimes.

The case happened this Tuesday (7). According to the police report, a team that was patrolling the region saw a motorcyclist, who, upon seeing the vehicle, began to flee. On the way, the young man threw a bag and jumped off the motorcycle.

According to the PM, during the escape the suspect fired a firearm at the soldiers who retaliated against the attack. A medical team from Lavandeira Hospital was called to the scene and confirmed the young man’s death. The body was taken to the Legal Medical Institute.

At the scene, the police found 150g of a marijuana-like substance inside the bag, R$262 in cash and a 32-caliber revolver.

The Military Police reported that the young man was considered highly dangerous and that he had 10 records for the crime of homicide, three convictions for drug trafficking and others for having committed theft, robbery and threats.

The case, according to the PM, was registered at the 15th Arraias Flagrante Center for appropriate measures. O g1 requested information from the Public Security Secretariat and received no response until the article was published.
