Minas Gerais Paralympic taekwondo athlete Larissa Lohane was arrested by the Military Police of Minas Gerais (PMMG) in the early hours of this Wednesday (1/5) in the Vila Maria neighborhood, in the Northeast region of Belo Horizonte, suspected of attacking her mother with a punch -English.

The fighter’s mother was taken to the Odilon Behrens Municipal Hospital, in the São Cristóvão neighborhood, in the northwest region of the capital, with bruises on her face.
Neighbors said an argument between mother and daughter drew attention. Calls for help were heard from inside the property. The police reported that, when they arrived at the scene, there were damaged personal items and electrical appliances.
Lohane was very aggressive, did not follow the orders given by the military and even punched a police officer during the approach, according to what was recorded by the PM. She had to be restrained until the police station.
Career
With a congenital malformation of the forearm and right hand, Lohane began practicing the Paralympic sport during the pandemic. She trained at the Sports Training Center of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (CET-UFMG).
At the 2023 Parapan American Games, held in Santiago, Chile, he won the bronze medal in the up to 57 kg category.
Lohane became a gold medalist in the 5th Brazilian Parataekwondo Championship, held in São Paulo, in September 2023.
