Government wants to extend the re-registration of the Zero Electricity Account to December – Politics

The Government of Mato Grosso do Sul sent to Alems (Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso do Sul) Bill 92/2024, which extends the deadline for families to re-register in the “Social Energy: Zero Electricity Account” to 31 December this year. The deadline for updating information is May 10th. The program serves 154 thousand families.

The proposal changes the wording and adds a provision to the legislation that regulates the program, establishing the new date. The program serves 154 thousand families and according to a message from Governor Eduardo Riedel (PSDB) “the intended modification arises from the fact that the established deadline did not prove to be sufficient for the wide dissemination of the new applicable rules, considering the low number of re-registrations to date ”.

To re-register, beneficiaries must update their data on the website www.sead.ms.gov.br and send an invoice, photo and personal documents. Until 2026 – The State Government extended the Social Energy: Zero Light Account program, created in 2021, at the time of the Covid 19 pandemic, until 2026. The target audience profile of the Social Energy: Zero Light Account program has also changed, reducing income from three to two minimum wages, with consumption of up to 220 KW and including families with a sick person who continually uses a device, when consumption must be up to 530 KW.
