Man is beaten to death in front of supermarket
A man identified as Joaquim Divino Guimarães, aged 52, was beaten to death by a 20-year-old young man, whose identity was not disclosed, while drinking beer in front of a supermarket, in Vila Rica, 1,276 km from Cuiabá, in this Tuesday (30).
According to the Civil Police, a medical team went to the scene to help the victim, who could not resist and died before reaching the hospital.
Witnesses informed the police that Joaquim was sitting with a woman when the suspect arrived at the scene, drunk and started an argument with the victim.
During the fight, the young man picked up a piece of wood to attack Joaquim, was restrained by people who were in the establishment and then left. A short time later he returned with the same piece of wood and attacked the victim with three blows to the head.
The suspect was arrested by a Military Police team and taken to the municipal police station. The case will be investigated by the Civil Police.
