MEC paid more than R$25 million for education in Acre in 2023

In 2023, the Ministry of Education (MEC) transferred R$25.8 million to education in Acre. The investment includes the federal government’s educational programs implemented in the state, such as Full-Time School, National Literacy Child Commitment and Connected Schools. Acre also has planned investment, until 2026, in the amount of R$56.23 million for the Pé-de-Meia program. The expectation is that high school savings will serve 19,600 students from Acre. This value will be even greater with the recently announced expansion of the Nest Egg for students benefiting from the Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico).

New PAC Acre also has educational investments planned by the New Growth Acceleration Program (NewPAC) destined to purchasing 18 new school buses and carrying out 16 works for the state’s education, totaling an investment of R$149.4 million.

Furthermore, the New PAC provides for investments for the following MEC programs carried out in the state:

  • Construction There are 37 stopped or unfinished works eligible to participate in the National Pact for the Resumption of Basic Education Works, which will generate an investment from the MEC of R$46 million.
  • federal Institute At the expansion plan of the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology (IFs), Acre will receive a new campus of the Federal Institute of Acre (Ifac), with investment expected in the amount of R$25 million.
  • University Hospitals (HU) For the construction of the new university hospital of the Federal University of Acre (Ufac), linked to the Brazilian Hospital Services Company (Ebserh), an entity linked to the MEC, R$50 million is planned or contracted for the work of the new HU-Ufac.

Other investments The state also has several other educational investments, in various federal government initiatives, through the Ministry of Education, such as: National School Meal Program (Pnae); National Program to Support School Transport (Pnate) and Caminho da Escola; National Book and Teaching Material Program (PNLD); Budget Recomposition for universities and federal institutes; Supplementation of the Fund for the Maintenance and Development of Basic Education and Development of Education Professionals (Fundeb) 2023.
