A truck with 19 oxen was seized and four motorcycles recovered during Operation Arco Verde of the Federal Highway Police (PRF-AC) which took place in Acre between the 21st and 27th of this month. Three people were arrested during the operation.
In addition to Acre, the second stage of the action was also carried out in Amapá (AP), Rondônia (RO), Pará (PA) and Maranhão (MA) throughout the month.
Regarding the incident involving the oxen, the PRF-AC reported that the driver did not have an Animal Transport Guide (GTA). The incident was recorded in Sena Madureira, in the interior of the state of Acre, on the 23rd.
The police called inspectors from the city’s Agricultural and Forestry Defense Institute (Idaf).
Last Friday (26), Acre police officers seized four motorcycles with records of robbery and theft in the municipality of Boca do Acre, in Amazonas. Three people were arrested with the stolen vehicles.
A fourth motorcycle was found abandoned on the road.
Operation Arco Verde is a Federal Government initiative that, in partnership with States and municipalities, seeks to encourage the prevention and fight against deforestation and land grabbing in the Legal Amazon, proposing a new development model for the Amazon.
