Throughout Rio Grande do Sul, there are more than 30 dead and 70 missing. Until this Friday morning (3), Civil Defense counted around 24,252 people away from home, with 7,165 people in shelters and 17,087 homeless (in the homes of family or friends). In total, 235 of the state’s 496 municipalities recorded some type of problem, affecting 351,639 thousand people.

The dam sirens were activated. The government’s guidance is for the population to leave risk areas and seek shelter in higher regions.

Companhia Energética Rio das Antas (Cetran), responsible for managing the dam, the structure is “in a stable situation, with no changes since the partial rupture that occurred on the afternoon of this Thursday, May 2nd”.

“The data shows that flows have decreased in the last few hours. Ceran continues to be in contact with Civil Defense and prioritizes people’s safety,” he stated in a statement.

The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) stated that safety measures were taken.
