A 40-year-old woman was arrested while trying to withdraw R$60,000 at a bank branch in Joinville last Friday (26). According to information from the Civil Police, the amount would have been sent by the family of a kidnapped doctor in Salvador (BA).

According to delegate Murilo Batalha, responsible for the case, the woman is suspected of being part of a gang specializing in various crimes across the country. In this case, the victim was in captivity, being threatened and family members extorted to free the doctor.
According to the Civil Police, its participation is fundamental to the crimes, as it provided bank accounts for criminals to make transfers without leaving a trace in the criminals’ names in Bahia.
