Herd registration update starts this Wednesday in ES

-

Between May 1st and June 30th, rural producers in Espírito Santo must update their livestock registration, which includes cattle, buffaloes, goats, sheep, horses, donkeys, mules, subsistence pigs and poultry, aquatic animals and bees.

The procedure is mandatory and free, and must be carried out by Siapec: https://idaf.es.gov.br/siapec.

Producers who do not yet have a Siapec login and password must look for the Idaf unit in their municipality, bringing personal documentation, and, on site, fill out a specific form.

The general director of Idaf, Leonardo Cunha Monteiro, calls on all animal breeders to carry out the procedure. “We are progressing towards international recognition for status free from foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination. The State and the productive sector need to move together in this direction”, highlighted Monteiro.

Idaf’s Sanitary Defense and Animal Inspection manager, Raoni Cipriano, explains that the registration update replaces the vaccination stages against foot-and-mouth disease and intensifies disease control and prevention. “Espírito Santo must develop actions that strengthen its surveillance system to keep the State free from diseases, fulfilling the commitments of the Strategic Plan of the National Surveillance Program for Foot and Mouth Disease (PNEFA) and enabling the expansion of markets for Espírito Santo products” , said Cipriano.

If the registration is not updated within the deadline, the property will be considered in default and prevented from issuing the Animal Transit Guide (GTA).
