PF finds clandestine anabolic laboratory in ES

An illegal anabolic steroid production laboratory was found by the Federal Police (PF), in Vila Velha, in Greater Vitória, this Monday (29). The space was located following the arrest in the act of a 27-year-old man, who regularly sent a large number of parcels with anabolic characteristics across the country via the Post Office.

Inputs, packaging, stickers, containers, machinery for producing the substance, as well as stock of products stored for sale were found in the laboratory. All of the material seized has not yet been accounted for.

The 27-year-old man lived in Guarapari, but was arrested when he tried to post orders at a post office in the Itapuã neighborhood, in Vila Velha. In the vehicle used by the suspect, there were more products, which were also seized.

After interrogating the prisoner, who would be responsible for posting the anabolic steroids, the police carried out investigations and identified the address of the laboratory in the Riviera da Barra neighborhood, also in Vila Velha.

All chemical material seized will be examined to identify the substances that were handled in the laboratory. The products had their own brand and were sold through social media, without a medical prescription, and distributed throughout Brazil.

According to the PF, the handling of this type of product without checking the origin of the raw material, without a responsible pharmacist and without due supervision from the Health Surveillance Department puts the health of people who consumed these anabolic steroids at risk, being a heinous crime against the public health.

The PF is continuing investigations to identify those responsible for the clandestine factory of anabolic products.

Those investigated will be responsible for the crimes of selling medicines without authorization from the competent health surveillance body and for falsification, corruption, adulteration or alteration of a product intended for therapeutic or medicinal purposes. For the two crimes together, the suspects can be sentenced to up to 30 years in prison.

The prisoner was taken to the Federal Police headquarters and will be available to the Court.
