Avenida Francisco Bicalho will be closed due to the implosion of a building this Sunday; see scheme | Rio de Janeiro

Rio City Hall set up a special traffic and security scheme for the implosion at 7am this Sunday (28) of one of the buildings of the former Clube dos Porttuários, on Avenida Francisco Bicalho, downtown Rio.

The interventions begin this Saturday (27), with the isolation of the entire area of ​​influence of the operation. CET-Rio reported that there will be a ban on parking and road closures in the area. (See details below)

Civil Defense defined a security perimeter of 150 meters around the implosion. The objective is to guarantee the integrity of residents and drivers who travel in the region and minimize impacts on traffic.

The demolition operation will involve 155 agents from various municipal bodies, including CET-Rio, Civil Defense, Municipal Guard, Public Order Secretariat and Center Subprefecture.

Access to Novo Rio Bus Station must be via Rua Equador or Avenida Brasil, a lane next to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics (Into).

Parking ban:

– Avenida Pedro II, between Rua Melo e Souza and Avenida Francisco Bicalho.

– Avenida Francisco Bicalho, side lane, towards Rio Bus Station, between Praça Diná de Queirós and Rua Comandante Garcia Pires;

– Avenida Francisco Bicalho, side lane, towards Avenida Presidente Vargas, between Avenida Pedro II and Rua Idalina Senra;

– Rua Comandante Garcia Pires, between Avenida Francisco Bicalho and Rua General Luís Mendes de Morais;

– Rua General Luís Mendes de Morais, along its entire length and in both directions;

– Praça Diná de Queirós, on the stretch between Rua General Luís Mendes de Morais and Avenida Francisco Bicalho.
