Judge Ramom Tácio understood that there was a personal promotion, since the advertising script had Gabriel saying phrases in the first person repeatedly.

The judge also ordered the party to present a defense within five days. g1 contacted MDB and pre-candidate Gabriel Azevedo and will update this material as soon as there is feedback.

Difference between party insertion and electoral propaganda

By law, outside the election period, channels must show party advertisements — so-called partisan insertions. They are used, for example, to encourage voter affiliation with the party and to publicize the program and for party actions.

It is different from electoral propaganda, published during free electoral hours in years when there is voting and used to promote candidacies.

This year, the electoral propaganda period begins on August 6th. The MDB advertising in question was broadcast at least three times on an open TV station in Belo Horizonte in the second half of April.
