Driver Max Verstappen donated an autographed Red Bull Racing shirt to Bazaar For Good, a philanthropic auction institution, which will donate part of the profits to Rio Grande do Sul. The state, taken by floods, is experiencing the greatest natural tragedy in its history .

The clothing provided by the champion of Formula 1 is printed with elements that refer to the Miami GP, held last Sunday (5). The North American city also hosts the charitable action that aims to raise 500 thousand dollars to help charities.

Leading publicity for the auction is Brazilian Martha Graeff, who founded Bazaar For Good in 2018. In addition to Verstappen, the businesswoman also thanked Kelly Piquet, daughter of three-time world champion, Nelson Piquet, and girlfriend of the Dutch driver.

In addition to the item, other exclusive and rare pieces will be auctioned. Among them decorative objects, a guitar autographed by musician Mark Ronson and even a tennis match with renowned businessman David Grutman.

Tragedy in Rio Grande do Sul

Rio Grande do Sul has been in a state of public calamity since last Monday (29), when storms began in the state. Floods devastated several cities in Rio Grande do Sul and killed thousands of people. This Thursday (9), according to information from Civil Defense, the number of deaths is 107. There are still 136 missing.

In the 425 affected municipalities, there are 1,476,170 people affected, 374 injured, 67,542 in shelters and 164,583 homeless. There is one death under investigation.
