Innovative project by state deputy Inácio Loiola, which proposes the State of Alagoas to create and build the Sertão CIAS Industrial Center, was approved by the plenary of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Alagoas (ALE). According to the parliamentarian, the project aims to encourage sustained industrial development in the semi-arid region of Alagoas.

The deputy also mentions the possibility of developing the services segment with the installation of an educational hub and a medical hub with the introduction of a medical school, new hospitals and clinics. This reality, in turn, will strengthen retail trade with the arrival of new students from neighboring states.

Industrial district

Also according to the deputy, the Sertão Industrial Center will enable the region’s sustained growth based on an incentive policy focused on productive sectors that will exploit local potential. “In fact, the region will be able to offer space that will encourage the installation of an industrial district.”

Adequate infrastructure

The backlands of Alagoas are differentiated and have enormous competitive advantages in relation to other northeastern states. It has adequate infrastructure – roads, generation and transmission of electrical energy, water pipelines – to receive various investments in the field of renewable energy (wind and solar) and industries processing dairy products from cattle, sheep and goats.

Bill

The bill authored by councilor Wellington Magalhães, which makes the June gang of Arapiraca, Canarraiá, cultural and intangible heritage, was approved by the Council of Councilors last Tuesday, 23rd, and goes to Mayor Luciano Barbosa for sanction.

Recognition

The parliamentarian highlights that the June gang is the oldest in the municipality and deserves this recognition.

“Canarraiá is the most traditional and oldest gang in Arapiraca. In 1985 it emerged as a matuta gang and, in 2000, it was stylized. In the centenary year, it receives the title of intangible and cultural heritage. The person who benefits from this recognition is the culture of Arapiraca”, declares the councilor.

Worrying alert

The Strategic Information Center for Health Surveillance (Cievs) of the Municipal Health Department of Arapiraca issued a worrying warning about the increase in cases of influenza A in the region. The increase in demand for health services due to flu conditions signals an increase in the rates of seasonal viral infections, common at this time of year.

Positive cases

During the last month of March, the Respiratory Virus Sentinel Unit, located in the Multiprofessional Health Complex in the Baixa Grande neighborhood, sent a total of 39 random swab samples for analysis of respiratory viruses to the Central Public Health Laboratory of Alagoas (LACEN/ AL). Alarmingly, approximately 60% of these samples, totaling 29, were detected as positive for Influenza A. In the first half of April, of the 23 swabs sent, approximately 70% (16 samples) were identified as positive for the same virus.

respiratory infection

Influenza, popularly known as the flu, is an acute respiratory infection caused by the Influenza A, B, C or D viruses, with types A and B being responsible for seasonal epidemics. Type A viruses, in particular, are closely associated with pandemic events, such as the Influenza A (H1N1) pandemic in 2009.

Accountability

The Municipalities of Alagoas must send, by April 30th, their respective financial statements to the Alagoas Court of Auditors (TCE/AL). Submission is mandatory for all managers, however, it was found that a large percentage of municipalities and other management units have not yet sent the documentation.

No extension

According to the TCE, all documents included in the mandatory list, established by Normative Resolution No. 01/2016, must be sent via the Jurisdictional Portal, in the E-TCE System, available at the link: https://www.tceal.tc.br/ . According to the accounting body, there will be no changes to the calendar, consequently without the possibility of extending the deadlines for sending the necessary information.

.. The Capital of Agreste Alagoas has witnessed notable growth in the wholesale sector over the last decade, consolidating itself as the main destination for supplying homes not only in Agreste, but also in Sertão, Baixo São Francisco and neighboring cities in Sergipe, Bahia and Pernambuco.

… This advance in Arapiraca’s wholesale trade is part of a story of economic resilience. Driven by the tobacco culture, which peaked between the 1960s and 1980s, the local economy faced significant challenges with the decline of this activity around 25 years ago.

… However, through the irrigated planting of vegetables and investments in wholesale trade, the city reinvented itself, consolidating itself as a regional commercial hub.
