The Secretary of State for Health, Nayara Maksoud, spoke about the efforts of the Government of Amazonas to combat the disease, with the provision of technical support and equipment for municipalities, in addition to monitoring and educational campaigns to encourage vaccination. She said:

Among the government’s actions to combat dengue, in March this year, 20 vehicles and 125 insecticide sprayers were delivered to 20 municipalities in the interior of the state, with an investment of approximately R$5 million. The municipalities selected to receive the vehicles and equipment were Apuí, Barcelos, Benjamin Constant, Borba, Boca do Acre, Coari, Canutama, Guajará, Eirunepé, Humaitá, Iranduba, Itacoatiara, Lábrea, Manacapuru, Manaus, Manicoré, Novo Aripuanã, Tabatinga, Tefé and São Gabriel da Cachoeira.
