On the air in the rerun of the soap opera “Alma Twin”, a plot by Walcyr Carrasco that is being shown on “It’s Worth Watching Again”, Nivea Stelmann reaffirmed her decision to leave acting aside and retire. The 50-year-old actress, known for several notable works, stated that she is even turning down roles.

“More and more I’m wanting to stop this, I’m kind of retiring for real and it’s not a bluff, you know?”, she said, in an interview with the podcast “Vaca Cast”, led by Evelyn Regly.
Actress known for successful roles is retiring
The artist said that she no longer has the desire to act and is giving up on being an actress, remaining firm in her decision to leave soap operas.
“My contracts are ending and I’m not really renewing them, people are looking for me to do it and I’m saying no. And it’s not like, ‘so you’re saying no so I can look for her’, no! I’m not in the mood anymore , real'”, he said.
Nivea explained that her decision was not impulsive, but rather part of a carefully planned life project. She revealed people’s reactions when she shared her decision, highlighting the surprise many felt when they learned she was leaving a 20-year career in television. She also denied that she had decided to live in the United States, where she has lived for seven years, because she was out of work in Brazil.
“There was a period when I came here when Globo was no longer renewing contracts with anyone, it was with no one, you know? So they weren’t renewing even names like Miguel Falabella, so not renewing with Stelmann, obviously. People say That’s why I decided to go to the United States, but it was a life plan I made with Marcus. Nobody thought I would have the courage to abandon 20 years of career in television”, he revealed.
Nivea played remarkable characters that are remembered to this day such as Ranya in “The Clone” (2001), Graça in “Chocolate com Pimenta” (2003), Alexandra in “Alma Gêmea” (2005), Elvira in “Seven Sins” (2007 ) and Lavínia in “Morder & Assopra” (2011).
