Soybean harvesting activities were temporarily interrupted due to unstable weather conditions in Rio Grande do Sul, with rainfall on April 15th and 16th. According to the Emater/RS-Ascar Conjunctural Information, released this Thursday (25/04), the partial resumption occurred on April 17 in some regions of the state, with moisture content of harvested grains varying between 16% and 25%, above ideal for efficient screening and separation processes.

After the resumption of activities, the harvest pace intensified until April 21, taking advantage of sunny days and mild temperatures. This allowed operations to be extended even during the night, resulting in an increase in the proportion of harvested area from 49% to 66%. Despite the unfavorable conditions, crop productivity was not impacted in general. However, occasional damage was recorded, especially in the Central-West region of the state, where exceptionally heavy rainfall made it difficult to resume harvesting.

As the harvest progresses into the final third, there is a tendency to reduce productivity, especially in later crops affected by phytosanitary problems, such as Asian rust. Despite this, the current harvest is considered quite satisfactory, with an estimated productivity of 3,329 kg/ha.
