Moderate rain warning hits the city of Ilhéus, in Bahia

Flooding on roads, houses invaded by water and landslides were some of the damage caused by the heavy rains that hit Ilhéus, in the south of the state, in the early hours of this Friday (26).

According to information from the municipality’s Civil Defense, it rained more than 60mm between Thursday (25) and Friday. The forecast is for rain until Sunday (28). The agency asked residents of condemned areas to leave their homes.

Even with the heavy rain, there are no reports of injuries or homeless people in the municipality.

Still in Ilhéus, on BA-001, in the Olivença district, two trees and two poles fell due to the storm. Part of the town was left without power. Neoenergia Coelba said it was aware of what happened and sent teams to the site to identify the problem and take appropriate measures.
