The Federation of Industries of the Federal District (Fibra) started this Thursday afternoon, April 25th, the first cycle of Exporta DF. Twenty micro and small industries in the fashion and clothing sector were selected to participate in the program, which aims to facilitate the entry of small companies from Brasilia into the international market. A workshop on the advantages of exporting was the first activity. Program participants gathered in the Industry Hub room, at the Brasília Technological Park – Biotic, to hear from the academic coordinator and professor of International Relations at the Catholic University of Brasília (UCB) Camila Sara Gonçalves Cunha.

“This awareness meeting is one of the most important parts within Exporta DF, as the businessman starts to look at international operations as a strategic activity”, explains the professional “It is extremely important to put businesspeople in contact with topics that they part of the construction of a sustainable international insertion, a perennial, continuous, and not occasional entry”, he adds.

Women’s fashion entrepreneur Alessandra Baeza, owner of Alê Baeza, is excited about participating in Exporta DF. “It’s a really cool opportunity to be able to adapt the product and qualify myself. I hope that by the end I will achieve my goal.” The program is structured in a three-step path: the first, with practical workshops and the delivery of an export plan to each industry; the second, focused on adapting the product to the foreign market; and the third, dedicated to prospecting.

Bruno Costa, from BD Battle Wear, which produces sports uniforms for fights and contact sports, positively evaluated Exporta DF’s first activity. “I’m leaving with very high expectations, because I thought it was something much smaller than what I ended up finding. My expectation is to finish this program really in the foreign market, being able to make a direct sale, talking to this market”, says Costa, who already sells outside the country, with around 60 orders per year, but indirectly (with an intermediary ).

In addition to UCB, Fibra’s partners in Exporta DF are the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), the Support Service for Micro and Small Businesses in DF (Sebrae-DF), the Bank of Brasília (BRB), the Secretariat of International Relations of the Federal District, the Post Office and the National Confederation of Industry (CNI).

The second meeting of the first cycle of Exporta DF is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30th, at 3 pm, at Fibra’s headquarters building, with the theme Radar Enabling.
