A group of ten Portuguese operators and travel agents participated in a speedboat trip through Todos-os-Santos Bay, organized by the State Tourism Secretariat (Setur-BA). The vessel departed from Bahia Marina, in Salvador, and passed by the islands of Mar and Frades and the beach of Ponta de Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe. On the return, more diving near the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) and contemplation of the sunset in Porto da Barra.
The previous day, the Portuguese visited the headquarters of Setur-BA, where secretary Maurício Bacelar made a presentation on the panorama of tourism in Bahia, with performance data, air connectivity and characteristics of the state’s 13 tourist zones.
“The State Government encourages the arrival of international professionals who sell tourist destinations, so that they have more tools when selling travel packages to Bahia. In the case of the Portuguese, we have a historical connection with them, which facilitates this exchange of experiences”, highlighted Secretary Bacelar.
The group was taken to Bahia by the Viajar Tours agency, in partnership with the airline TAP, Portuguese companies, for a famtour (familiarization trip) with tours through the tourist areas Costa dos Coqueiros (Guarajuba and Praia do Forte) and Baía de Todos- os-Santos (Salvador and islands), discovering natural beauty and hotel infrastructure.
“Bahia is a leisure destination par excellence. Our goal is not only to bring a lot of people here, but to make Salvador the state’s gateway to Portugal and the rest of Europe. The route is truly a success, with very high flight occupancy rates, so much so that we increased frequencies for daily flights”, declared TAP representative, Antônio Gabriel.
