Circulation of Salvador metro trains is partially suspended

Subway traffic at Mussurunga Station, in Salvador, was partially suspended for 20 minutes, in the direction Aeroporto – Bairro da Paz, this Thursday morning (25).

In a video recorded around 10 am, by a person who was at the terminal, it is possible to see a crowd of passengers waiting for the service to return, affected on line 2.

According to witnesses, the platform in the North Access direction had to be evacuated to rescue a woman, while the other, in the Airport direction, remained open. The rescue took about 30 minutes.

An agent from CCR Metrô, the concessionaire responsible for the system, asked passengers to go up to the top of the station and move away from the boarding and disembarking area, so that the work could be carried out safely by professionals from the Mobile Emergency Care Service ( Samu).

The person’s identity was not revealed. Witnesses said she attempted to kill herself. There is no information whether she was taken to a hospital, nor about her health status.

Travel returned to normal at 10:40 am and other lines were not impacted.
