Correio newspaper | Teachers from the Bahia state network reject the State’s proposal and approve the strike

The Government of Bahia’s proposed adjustment of 5.69%, with fractional payment, was rejected by the category

Teachers from the state network approved, this Thursday morning (25), a 48-hour strike for next Monday (29) and Tuesday (30), during regional assemblies held throughout the state.

According to the Union of Education Workers of the State of Bahia (APLB), which represents the category and organized the assemblies, more than 90% of workers in the state Education network rejected the Bahia Government’s adjustment proposal of 5.69%, with split payment.

The assemblies also approved the holding of a demonstration on Monday (29), at 9 am, at the COI of the State Secretariat of Public Security (SSP-BA), in the Administrative Center of Bahia (CAB), in Salvador. The activity will be in conjunction with the Federation of State Public Servant Entities (Fespeba), which includes, in addition to our entity, Sindsaúde, Sinpojud, Sindpoc, Sindsefaz, Sinspeb, Sintest and Sincontas.

The regions of Recôncavo Bahia, East, Serrana, Northeast, Southwest, North Coast, West, São Francisco, Cacaueira, South, Diamantina, South, Center West, Northwest, Sertão, Sisaleira, North, Diamantina North and Chapada do Oeste approved the strike on the 29th and 30th, with demonstrations at the Territorial Education Centers (NTEs) in each region. The Metropolitan region proposed the start of the strike, starting this Thursday (25)

The State Education Secretariat (SEC) reported that “it has an open and respectful dialogue with the APLB Sindicato and reiterates that it respects the right to free expression of teachers”, says the note. The SEC also highlighted that it remains open to the listening and dialogue process with the category.
