Councilwoman’s husband is shot in fight with another parliamentarian’s team

Confusion surrounds social projects, by the two parliamentarians, focused on zumba dancing. Councilor Cassiane said that she was in the square today accompanied by her father, former councilor Iranildo Domício, and her husband. Marcelly da Aquarela’s team was also on site, as, according to her, a zumba session had been scheduled for that time. Marcelly was not present at the time of the confusion.

On social media, Marcelly da Aquarela stated that the court, where classes would take place, was locked. “People arrived and came across a chain at the gate of the court. The chain prevented the students from entering, 200 people who are part of this [do projeto social]”, she said. After that, she said that Cassiane, her husband and father, had attacked the advisors.

The parliamentarian identified the shooter as “Rômulo”. She explained that he is a military police officer and tried to “calm down the situation”. Marcelly also clarified that she has a permit that allows the use of the place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

In a statement, also on social media, Cassiane said she was hit twice by the security guard. “Four men arrived, one of them armed, asking what we were doing in that place. The councilor showed that she has a request from 2023 to hold classes on the square’s court. “Since January last year, we have been offering Zumba and physical education classes here,” she added.

The shooter reported himself to the police this afternoon.. The Pernambuco Civil Police reported that they are investigating him for attempted murder and bodily harm. The investigations continue until the incident is fully clarified.
