Rio Grande City Hall announced, on Tuesday (23), that suspended the transfer of baskets with supplies, after the reports. The municipal Executive reinforces that “in the short period in which the food was stored in the municipality, storage was carried out in an appropriate location and with sanitary inspection within the required standards”.

“As all the baskets were within their expiration date, they were delivered to the families. From the moment the packages were opened and it was noticed that some of the food was spoiled, we suspended delivery and returned the basic baskets to the state, so they could be replaced. “, reports the municipality’s Civil Defense coordinator, Anderson Montiel.

Responsible for transferring 700 basic food baskets to the municipality, the Civil Defense of RS told the g1 that “the items included in the baskets that were delivered were properly packaged and all within their expiration date.” The department guarantees that it will replace the kits in which irregularities were found.
