Health professionals in Rio Grande do Norte continue to continue their strike schedule with the aim of demanding a salary adjustment for their category. According to the State Health Servants Union (Sindsaúde/RN), this Wednesday (24) a unified act will be held with other professional segments to pressure the State Government to present a new proposal. The mobilization begins at 9 am, in front of the Governor’s Office.
Although they reject the initial salary recovery project presented by the State, Sindsaúde assures that it continues to negotiate with management through dialogues with the head of the Administration Secretariat (Sead), Pedro Lopes. “However, the category awaits a statement from Governor Fátima Bezerra (PT), who remains silent regarding the negotiations. In this sense, Sindsaúde/RN demanded, once again, a position from the government until this Thursday (25), when the category will meet again in the Assembly to evaluate the direction of the strike”, states the Union.
While professionals are pressing for new proposals, the State Government reaffirms that it will not give any type of salary adjustment or recovery to civil servants this year. As pointed out by the Secretary of State for Administration, Pedro Lopes, salary adjustments continue to be negotiated with the categories, but with adjustments only in 2025 and if ICMS collection behaves at levels similar to when the modal rate was 20%. In addition to this, the Government does not rule out possible legal action for the ongoing strikes.
In addition to state health workers, civil police officers have also carried out mobilizations in recent days through strikes that demand greater appreciation for the category. The State Department of Transit (Detran/RN). in turn, it also threatens to stop services and is expected to discuss the status of the insotution this Wednesday.
