A 42-year-old psychologist was found dead inside her own house in Assu, in the west of Rio Grande do Norte, in the early evening of this Tuesday (23). Fabiana Maia Veras was gagged and had several cuts on her body. The perpetrator of the crime, who may have been motivated by passion, was arrested this Wednesday (24).
Fabiana’s body was found by an employee of hers. The corpse was in one of the rooms, gagged and with cut marks caused by some type of blade. The home’s security cameras filmed a hooded man, wearing a mask and gloves, talking to Fabiana for a few minutes. She even shows the rooms of the house to the suspect and enters the house’s suite with him, where Fabiana was found dead. The footage also shows the author leaving the room and washing his bloody hands in the kitchen. Finally, he heads towards the door and leaves in a black car.
According to the police, the perpetrator even entered the property a second time to retrieve a bag that possibly contained the weapon used in the crime. The author also took the victim’s cell phone, but left the weapons of the psychologist, who was authorized to possess firearms.
This Wednesday (24), the author was identified and arrested in the Nova Descoberta neighborhood, in the South Zone of Natal, as he arrived by car at one of his properties. The author has not yet been identified, but he would be a businessman. The case is investigated by the Civil Police and the main line of investigation is a crime of passion.
